Secondary State Assessments

State Testing Information
This year, freshmen, sophomores and juniors will be participating in state testing, taking the PSAT-8/9, the PSAT-10, and the SAT-11 and CMAS Science-11, respectively. Our commitment is to minimize the impact testing has on the learning environment while still striving to collect the most helpful student achievement and growth data possible.

The Role of State Assessments
Colorado has a series of educational standards known as the Colorado Academic Standards that outline academic objectives for students in every grade across 10 content areas. Fully implemented in the 2013-14 school year, the standards are designed to ensure students are prepared to succeed in their path of choice upon high school graduation. Colorado has implemented a set of common assessments known as the Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS) and PSAT/SAT. The Classical Academy publishes the assessment calendar each fall based on the CDE guidelines.  The 2019-2020 state assessments will be administered in April 2020.  Each school will communicate its testing schedule on or before March 1, 2020.

2019-2020 Testing:

ll tests for Junior High students have been cancelled, and the Science test for 11th-grade students has been cancelled.

College Board
In alignment with coronavirus guidance from public health organizations, school closures across the country, and discussions with local education leaders, College Board cannot reschedule the School Day SAT administration or provide administrations on April 14th. In addition, College Board is unable to provide the PSAT10 or PSAT 8/9 testing this spring.

AP Exams-Students will take a 45-minute online-free-response exam at home. For each AP subject, there will be 2 different testing dates.  Please check for additional details.
