Coach Norton, Head Cross Country Coach

This is my third year as head coach at TCA after two as an assistant. In all, this is my 23rd year of coaching at three schools: 14 as a head cross country coach, 14 as a head track coach. I've been blessed to coach eight state championship teams, nine state runner-up teams, and many state championship and all-state individuals and relay teams. I competed collegiately at the University of Kansas, highlighted by a runner-up finish in the 800-meter run at the 1996 Big 8 Championships and being named co-captain for the 1996-1997 track team. More than any of that, I've been blessed to pass along a passion for athletics and competition that many beloved coaches gave to me, as well as cultivate treasured relationships with fellow coaches around the state. I am grateful for the overwhelming support of the TCA community to coach and also teach 9th grade English. I would not be the coach or man I am without my wife of 18 years, Rebecca, and our two lovely children, Gwendolyn (an 8th grader at TCA) and Walter (a 6th grader at Colorado School for the Deaf and Blind).
