TCA East Campus Carpool

Please refer to the carpool map as you read through the directions, and this carpool video might be helpful as well.

Safety is our utmost concern during carpool. Please follow all directions of the carpool attendants. NO CELL PHONE use at any point along the carpool line.
All carpool drivers must enter from New Life Drive. Do not cut the line by coming from PPSC or from Interquest Parkway/Highway 83.
Drivers wishing to park should enter from the south off of Highway 83. You will bypass the line of cars waiting in the carpool line.
Obey all posted traffic signs, it is an exception when the carpool attendant waives you through.
During carpool, siblings and carpool groups will stand with the youngest member of the group. Please encourage older children to be great role models for the younger children with their carpool behavior.
We strive to be good neighbors, please do not use PPSC parking lots or New Life Church parking lot to park and walk over to TCA.
Cross Peak View is blocked for carpool during these times:

There is no supervision prior to 7:45 am. Please do not leave children unattended.
Follow the split carpool flow shown on the map. K-2 drops off in front of the school, and 3-6 drops off in front of the field.
Kindergarten students go directly into the building to wait outside their classroom.
1st and 2nd graders will play on the K-2 playground.
3rd – 6th grades will play on the field and 3-6 playground.
1st – 6th graders will enter the building at 8:05 am
Students need to be in their seat, ready for the day at 8:15 am.

Once students are released, our carpool line moves very efficiently to finish within 15 minutes. There is no need to come early.
Follow the map directions to queue in the appropriate area.
DO NOT block intersections or crosswalks during carpool.
In the K-2 line, wait at the yield sign in the parking lot until it is clear to pull in front of the school. DO NOT block the intersection by waiting at the stop sign when it is not clear to pull toward the front of the school.

You are welcome to park and walk up to meet your child.
Please stand in the parent waiting area (on the cement pad between the field and the K-2 playground) and wait for your child to come to you. This helps us keep the students safe and organized in the carpool line.
Talk with your child ahead of time regarding where you will meet.
Students waiting for their parents will sit along the curbs.
If you have difficulty locating your student, the carpool attendant will radio to find your student in their classroom line.

In the event of an emergency that prevents the children from standing outside for afternoon carpool, East Elementary will follow these procedures:

If the children are already outside, the administrator on duty will call for the reverse evacuation back into the building over the walkies.
The children will move quickly and orderly back into the building, following their teachers and tutors (as they would in a fire drill).
All students will return to their classrooms and sit quietly at their desks, waiting to hear instructions.
All students, parents, and staff members will stay in their vehicles or in the building until the outdoor situation is safe.
As soon as it is safe, a carpool attendant will call the student’s names over the walkie (one attendant for each line).
K-2 line uses channel 1 and 3rd – 6th line uses channel 2.
We will maintain the split carpool flow, and students will be called to both lines, depending on their grade level. This will help us release the children quickly and safely.
K-2nd will exit, as they are called, through the front entrance of the school or through the side door near the playground.
3rd grade and older will exit through the west door at the end of the 1st grade hallway.
A paraprofessional will be stationed at each door to help children find their cars quickly.
The administrator on duty will announce if and when it is safe to return to normal operations, and they will issue an “all-call” for students and staff to come out to the carpool lines. At that point, all teachers will walk their remaining students out to the carpool line.
