Welcome to East Elementary Music!

'Musical training is a more potent instrument than any other, because the rhythm and harmony find their way into the secret places of the soul' - Plato

At TCA the music department is thriving with many ways to find the ‘secret places of the soul’. In the elementary schools our music curriculum is rich with studies of classic composers and appreciation of their great works, learning folk songs from American and European history, understanding and applying music theory, and musical expression through performances that involve singing, dancing, rhythm instruments and recitation.
First through sixth grade students have one 60-minute music lesson per week and engage in practicing disciplines such as perfect execution, attentive listening, working as a group toward a common goal, following direction, and memorization.   Kindergarten music classes are 30 minutes per week and emphasize the basics of music (steady beat, notes and pitches) with joy. All classes focus on truth, beauty and goodness.
The schedule of concerts and other TCA East Music events can be found in the menu below. On performance days dress rehearsals are in the morning and Concerts for the public at 2:00 pm.
