In the Spring of 1996, Frank Haist was asked to join the Boys Basketball coaching staff at Trinity Christian High School in Lubbock, Texas. He agreed to join the staff with the understanding that in three years he hoped to be a head coach somewhere. Well, while the TCHS Runnin’ Lions were on a State Championship run in the 1998-1999 season (his third year as Varsity Asst/JV coach), Frank was introduced to The Classical Academy by a long-time friend who was actively involved with TCA from its inception. And so, Frank’s journey at TCA began with a job interview in April of 1999. And, as they say, “the rest is history”.  
Frank and his wife, Sandra, are in their 23rd year serving the TCA community. They worked for TCA for eight years, then returned to Lubbock for two years, and now are in their 15th year back at TCA. Currently, Sandra is a 6th grade teacher at East Campus; and Frank is the Registration and Pre-College Advisor at College Pathways; and he is entering his 8th year as the Head Coach for Lady Titans Basketball. Frank and Sandra are blessed with four children and one grandchild. 
At TCA, Frank has worn many hats and is thankful for each of those opportunities to grow personally and professionally.  Frank has a particular passion for coaching basketball, as he has done so for 28 years now. His experiences as an assistant and head coach in Texas and Colorado have taught him so much about the struggles and joys of life. Frank has enjoyed competitive “success” over the years and is very grateful for it; but he has realized that “true success” is simply learning the skill of living life well. And, for as long as he has the tremendous privilege to coach, he will continue to be passionate about teaching the great game of basketball while always guiding and encouraging his coaching staff and players to passionately pursue true success.
